dance today with the Goddess Laka

Today is a day to celebrate the Goddess Laka.

Sister of Pele, goddess of the hula, of dance, of rain, of herbal healing and of tradition. She urges us to keep our treasures and our jounals in order so that they can be passed along to the next generation.

Her altars are temporary and are built of ferns, flowers and herbs.

She celebrates life and encourages us to do the same.

  2. Thank you for posting this. Even though I haven't been there yet, I have a strong pull to Polynesia. I have been visualizing it almost daily. Scott Cunningham's book on Hawaiin Magic is on my wishlist. :)

  7. I really need a tropical goddess right now, to remind me the whole world isn't snowed in, like my corner is.
